Michael Prigent is the creator of the
project and co-art director of The
Parisianer. The Parisianer is a collective
artistic project that brings together more than two hundred artists around a single concept: creating the covers of The Parisianer, a fictitious magazine
celebrating the city of Paris.
The latest issue, ”Le sport dans la ville,” pays homage to the key disciplines of the Olympic Games held in Paris during the summer of 2024. The images illustrate the Olympic events in a fun and offbeat way, set against the backdrop of Parisian
daily life in 2024. “Le sport dans la ville,” like all other issues of The Parisianer, is printed in fine art quality on the famous Munken paper by Arctic Paper.
Where did you get inspiration from when designing the book?
We draw inspiration from everyday moments in Paris, from simple situations to
incredible anecdotes. The city’s daily magic provides our best ideas.
What is the best thing about your work as a designer?
I love collaborating with talented illustrators. Their surprising, rich, and intelligent
work makes discovering new images a precious moment.
What does paper mean to you?
Paper is where magic happens. It can inspire or intimidate, but when you draw, it
becomes a territory to conquer. Beautiful paper enhances illustrations and making
colors explode.
What are you up to right now?
We are preparing a unique collection of posters and goodies with a major Parisian
store and four amazing illustrators, highlighting art and Paris.
